Women’s International Day is a worldwide event. Today we celebrate women’s progress and achievements in social, economic, cultural and political spheres. It is also a reminder of the many obstacles women faced in the past, and of those which we are still facing nowadays. Indeed, this day marks a call to keep fighting violence against women and to action gender parity.
In this sense, we would like to share with you this BBC story about how women are able to challenge sexist jokes and banter through their witty responses.
Following with this piece of news, the well-known group Funny Women has claimed that «comedy is great because it helps us talk about stuff that sometimes we just don’t want to talk about, it makes us braver in that everlasting dialogue about sexism.»
We totally agree with them !
